Well, today was a first! Doing a family portrait in fog was pretty challenging. Regardless, it gave a really dramatic feel to the shoot. The gorgeous Vaughan family made my job an easy one; it's a joy to work with a family who are so close, their love respect for each other was palpable. Here are a few of my personal favourites.

I had a glorious afternoon with Lucy and her gorgeous family. The weather was practically tropical for November, the light was just lovely and there were still some great autumn colours around. The whole family were a joy to shoot, I couldn't think of a nicer way to spend a Sunday afternoon. These are just a few of my personal favourites.

It was really fabulous to see my sister and her family this weekend. It seemed too short though, and the place is very quiet without them. It was my first visit from my gorgeous niece Jasmine who was a gem the entire weekend, not a peep! And my nephew Jordan was full of energy and a real cheeky chappy. It's amazing how quick they grow up.

I spent a lovely afternoon with Morven & Matt yesterday, making the most of the gorgeous weather. We had a quick walk to Queens Park, and then a nice stroll across the road to Bushy Park where we were greeted by the deer calling to each other and we were excited to see one of the deer wade through the pond and then walk right in front of us.

I was honoured when Grit contacted me to do another shoot for her family nearly nine months after the first. This time there was a new addition to the family and Grit wanted some relaxed posed / natural photographs as a present for her husband. We had a lovely day and were very lucky to dodge some heavy downpours and get some gorgeous sunshine.

Day at the Races - Part 4

The last day of Royal Ascot, which means my project for Nick and Sara comes to an end. But what a great way to end it! I got to go to Ascot in the Royal Enclosure which was a massive privilege, I was most excited to see the Queens procession go by so close, and despite some rain showers, everyone had a fantastic day.

After the success of 'The Royal Wedding', I am very happy to be doing a series of shoots for Sarah & Nick for the massive effort they put into going to the races. Today was Epsom Derby. I arrived to a very relaxed household and left in a whirlwind! I am very much looking forward to the rest of the shoots, in particular, going to Royal Ascot!

Unfortunately I was unavailable to photograph the Royal Wedding as I had already agreed to photograph a right Royal event to celebrate the nuptuals. Sarah & Nick put on an amazing day including champagne reception and after watching the ceremony the guests sat down to a wedding breakfast created to encompass all things British. At the end of the meal, everyone toasted the new Bride & Groom, it was almost like being there!

Well I hope everyone enjoyed the glorious bank holiday weather. I made the most of my time by day of shooting with the lovely Kylie Kefford. We walked through the Hampton Court side of Bushy Park (which was surprisingly quiet!) before stopping off for a quick drink. The setting of gorgeous spring flowers, lakes & ponds made for some very colourful shots.

One of my very good friends, Helen, is due to give birth in a couple of months, so yesterday was her baby shower. A gorgeous sunny day and a handful of close friends made for a really relaxed afternoon. An amazing array of food by the talented planner, Trina, meant that an afternoon nap was required! I am looking forward to doing a proper pregnancy shoot with Helen in a couple of weeks.

One of the many things I love about photography is that there is always something new to learn and thanks to http://photographymeetups.com/ I get access to lighting rigs, models & amazing locations in which to have a bit of fun, experiment and try out new poses for any upcoming client shoots.

So on Sunday I had one of my most interesting shoots to date, at an abandoned building near Holborn. I am really pleased with the outcome - some of my favourites are below. Enjoy!

Surrey Search & Rescue

I spent this very wet Sunday morning with the Surrey Search & Rescue team www.sursar.org.uk while they were being filmed & interviewed by ITV. The team are all volunteers who train hard to help the local emergency services when called on. Despite the terrible weather, the spirits were high.

I had a fantastic opportunity yesterday to work with models and studio lighting in a great location. I have to admit, I am an usually an advocate for using natural light, but I loved the results I got from the strobe lighting so much that I think I may be investing in some of my own!

Guns II Roses

Had quite a lot of fun photographing a local gig for tribute band Guns II Roses on Saturday. They are the UK's No.1 GnR tribute band and have been approved by various members of Guns N Roses, they even have the original GnR drummer Steven Adler playing with them from time to time! Excitingly, there is a possibility of photographing them at the O2 Acadamy in Islington so watch this space!

A hugely relaxed affair with several guests getting into the Pagan swing by arriving in fantastic costume. Yesterday was the wonderful wedding of Andy & Salima at St Paul's Cathedral. Unfortunately, you are very limited on photography inside the chapel, but luckily it was a fantastic day for photographs outside.

Salima looked beautiful, and the whole day was fantastic fun, with a bus ride round London and a great food at the Design Museum over looking the Thames.
